Discover Aston Martins for sale at Pedal to the Metal. Founded in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford, Aston Martin was bought in 1947 by David Brown, whose initials gave the DB series its name. From 1955 its cars were built at Newport Pagnell, including the DB4 with its Touring Superleggera body, the DB5 made famous by Goldfinger in 1964, the DB6 and the V8 models of 1969 to 1989. Production moved to a new factory at Gaydon from 2003, with models such as the DB7, DB9, Vanquish and V8 Vantage, followed by the DB11, the DBS Superleggera and the DBX.
If your ideal Aston Martin isn’t in our current inventory, we can help you find it. PTTM sources high-quality classic and collector cars, with worldwide delivery available.
Choose by era and character. The DB2 of 1950–1953 and the DB4, DB5 and DB6 of 1958–1970 are the classic six-cylinder grand tourers, with the DB4 GT and DB4 GT Zagato as rare high-performance versions. The DBS and the V8 models of 1967–1989 are larger and more powerful, and the V8 Vantage from 1977 is the performance version. The Lagonda saloon styled by William Towns ran from 1976 to 1989.
Modern models include the DB7 from the 1990s, the Vanquish, the DB9, the V8 Vantage and later cars such as the DB11 and DBS Superleggera.
The DB4, DB5 and DB6 use a double overhead camshaft straight-six designed by Tadek Marek, with an aluminium block and head, 3.7 litres in the DB4 and larger in later cars. Their bodies use the Superleggera principle developed by Carrozzeria Touring in Milan, with aluminium panels over a framework of small tubes. The V8 models use a larger V8 engine. These construction methods make specialist knowledge important, both for inspection and for restoration.
Start with identity and history. Check that the chassis number, engine number and specification match the car’s documentation, and that the car’s history is consistent. Aston Martin Works at Newport Pagnell offers an Assured Provenance programme for heritage cars, which reviews a car’s records alongside a digital scan and a physical inspection. Then inspect the structure, the junctions between aluminium panels and steel parts for corrosion, the sills and floors, and any previous accident or restoration work.
On restomod and pro-touring cars, judge the quality of the components and workmanship. PTTM can share the information available on a car and discuss any further inspection.
Model, specification and history set the starting point. A DB4 GT, a DB4 GT Zagato, a DB5 or a convertible version of the classic DB cars sits in a very different market from a later V8 saloon or a modern Aston Martin. Within any model, value reflects originality, matching numbers, documented history, the quality of any restoration, factory options, condition, colour and mileage.
Unrestored survivors, restored cars and professionally built restomods are each valued on different terms. Compare the whole car and its records alongside the price, and PTTM can help you define a realistic search.
Registration documents with a chassis number matching the car are the foundation. Factory build records, the original handbook, service history and restoration invoices add weight, and certification through Aston Martin Works Assured Provenance can support a heritage car’s originality and history. Membership records from the Aston Martin Owners Club and specialists can help trace earlier ownership. Imported cars should carry their import papers, and PTTM’s Registration Service can guide European registration.
Yes, PTTM can assess your current car and discuss a trade-in towards an Aston Martin purchase. Send us its make, model, year, mileage, photographs and available history, along with details of the car you are interested in. Trade-ins are not automatic: each proposal is considered individually, based on condition, documentation and market demand.
Possible structures include equal-value exchanges and trades with a cash adjustment on either side, agreed transparently in advance.
Aston Martin combines British grand touring with a strong racing history. In 1959 a DBR1 driven by Roy Salvadori and Carroll Shelby won the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and Aston Martin won the World Sportscar Championship that year, its only title in that series. The DB5 gained lasting fame through the James Bond film Goldfinger. Only 75 DB4 GTs and 19 DB4 GT Zagatos were built. Individual cars stand out through originality, documentation, history and condition, and a well-sorted driver can be as rewarding as a concours restoration.
It depends on how you plan to use the car. The classic DB cars are grand tourers built for long, fast journeys, with convertible versions for open-air touring. The V8 models offer more power and space, while modern Aston Martins combine performance with everyday usability. An original or carefully restored car suits buyers who value authenticity, while sympathetic upgrades to cooling, brakes and air conditioning make regular use easier. PTTM offers restorations and custom builds. Tell your sales advisor how and how often you plan to drive.
Yes. Our Personalized Car Search service can look beyond our current inventory. Tell us your preferred model and year, body style and transmission, whether original or upgraded, and colour, condition and budget.
We identify suitable cars and help assess their condition, history and authenticity. DB4 GTs, DB5s, convertibles, V8 Vantages and cars with documented history can take longer to find, and we will give you an honest expectation of timing. Search terms are agreed before we begin, and you are never obliged to proceed with a car we present.
Yes. PTTM works with buyers across Europe and overseas and can coordinate transport to your country. Within Europe, cars travel by road with our own trailers or trusted partners. Intercontinental deliveries normally go by sea freight, and air freight is available on request. We confirm the transport method, insurance, costs and estimated timing for your destination before you commit. Import requirements vary by country, so share your destination when enquiring and we can explain the options.
We’re happy to discuss your plans and advise on the right next steps. Whether you’re considering a purchase, planning a restoration or build, or exploring options for selling or registration.
