It became the foundation for Ford’s most formidable race machinery: GT40s, lightweight Galaxies, Fairlanes, Cobras, and other factory-backed competition cars.

This engine is fitted with Ford’s most radical FE cylinder head design: the tunnel-port head. Massive, straight-shot intake ports and large valves were designed to move extraordinary volumes of air at high engine speeds.
