Ford 428 Cobra Jet V8 Engine | Fully Rebuilt | Numbers-Correct | Factory Specifications
Offered here is a genuine Ford 428 Cobra Jet, one of the most historically significant and collectible Ford big-blocks ever produced. Built on a May 5, 1969 block, this engine has been fully rebuilt to factory specifications using correct, date-coded components throughout. If you are putting together a serious factory restoration, this is the engine you have been looking for.
The 428 Cobra Jet needs little introduction. Launched in 1968 as Ford’s answer to the muscle car horsepower wars, it arrived with an official rating of 335 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque. Those numbers were deliberately conservative. The Cobra Jet shocked the drag strip establishment on its debut and went on to power some of the most desirable factory muscle cars of the era: Mustangs, Torinos, Fairlanes, Cougars, and more. It was Ford’s street weapon of choice until the end of the muscle car era.
This example has been rebuilt with an obsessive focus on correctness. Every major component is either original and date-correct or a proper period replacement. The rotating assembly has been balanced, and the balance card is included with the engine.

It is not a parts-bin approximation. Every number tells the right story.
