This exceptional 1973 Camaro Z28 stands among the finest and most authentic examples we have ever encountered. This is a 100% original and unrestored survivor, preserved exactly as it left the factory and documented to a level that is virtually unheard of.
This Camaro was never acquired as a bargain—it was chosen for its story, integrity, and unmatched originality. It has been awarded a prestigious Gold Award, confirming its status as a reference-grade American muscle car. Even more remarkable, its first owner, Richie, is still alive today.
Now offered by its fourth owner (us), we acquired the car from Alan, the third caretaker, who owned and cherished it for seven years. Prior to Alan, the Camaro belonged to a dedicated Z28 collector who purchased it directly from Richie, the original owner, who retained the car for nearly four decades. This clear, uninterrupted ownership chain is exceptionally rare.
Documentation Without Equal
The documentation accompanying this Camaro is simply extraordinary. All original factory booklets, window sticker, tags, and the original build sheet are present. In addition, every invoice for all work ever performed on the car is included. Remarkably, even the original checkbook used to pay for the car when new is still with the vehicle.
In total, two large binders filled with documentation accompany the car, creating a complete, transparent, and irrefutable history from day one. We have never seen another Camaro documented to this extent.
Driving this Z28 is a true time-capsule experience. The car looks, feels, and drives exactly as a 1973 Camaro should. The only non-factory addition is a rare, period-correct gauge set installed by a previous owner to monitor oil pressure and engine vacuum—an upgrade that adds functionality without detracting from originality.
Originally based in the UK, the car was meticulously maintained and enjoyed by Alan, a true enthusiast with deep respect for muscle car heritage. When we collected the Camaro, it was evident how difficult it was for him to part with it. We promised to continue the same level of care and respect. Should this Camaro move on again, it will only be to a buyer who truly understands what it represents.
Mechanical Authenticity
The car retains its original, numbers-matching engine, transmission, and rear axle. The 1973 Z28 engine produces 245 net horsepower, delivering strong, authentic performance. The original Wide Ratio manual transmission shifts beautifully and still features the factory Key Lockout function. The Limited Slip Differential with 3.73 gearing offers an excellent balance between relaxed cruising and exhilarating acceleration.
This Camaro is not merely a car—it is a benchmark example, offered exclusively to a discerning collector who values originality, documentation, and historical integrity above all else.
