Description

1972 Chevrolet Corvette LT-1 ZR1 Convertible

A TRUE HOLY GRAIL OF CORVETTES – THE ONLY 1972 ZR1 CONVERTIBLE KNOWN TO EXIST
A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own what might be the rarest Corvette ever built. Between 1970 and 1972, only 53 ZR1-optioned Corvettes were produced. In 1972, just 20 were built—14 coupes and 6 convertibles. Until today, none of the six convertibles were known to exist. Now, for the first time, we present the only documented 1972 ZR1 Convertible in existence.
WHAT MAKES THE ZR1 OPTION SO SPECIAL?
The ZR1 was Chevrolet’s ultimate factory-built track-ready Corvette, designed for pure performance and durability. It combined the legendary LT1 350/255 HP small-block V8 with a suite of high-performance components:
• M22 “Rock Crusher” heavy-duty 4-speed transmission
• J56 heavy-duty power brakes
• J50 power brakes
• Transistorized ignition system
• Special heavy-duty aluminum radiator
• F41 high-performance suspension with upgraded springs, shocks, and sway bars
The LT1 engine was already a powerhouse, featuring forged internals, a high-lift solid-lifter cam, an aluminum intake, and a Holley 780cfm carburetor, all designed for high-RPM performance. The ZR1 package eliminated luxury options like air conditioning, power steering and even radio to keep weight down and maximize track capability.
DOCUMENTED AND VERIFIED
This is not just a rare Corvette—it is a fully documented, factory-confirmed one-of-one survivor.
• GM Canada ordering and option confirmation sheet, verifying it as the only 1972 ZR1 Convertible ordered through Canada
• Original tank sticker confirming factory ZR1 status
• Vintage Corvette magazine from 1996 listing all known ZR1s, with no recorded 1972 convertibles—until now
• Complete valuation report, issued in your name upon purchase
• Dutch registration
THE CAR
Finished in Targa Blue over Black interior, this ZR1 is a turn-key, investment-grade collector’s car, fully serviced and ready for display in a top-tier collection or museum.
• Enclosed transport included to the new owner
• Custom car cover with PTTM logo
• We accept high-end trade-ins.
Vehicle available exclusively through our selection program.
