1967 Shelby GT500 - Original Survivor
Factory Lime Gold · Original 428 Police Interceptor · Original Automatic
Long-Term Family Ownership Since 1971
Pedal to the Metal is proud to offer this exceptionally rare and highly authentic 1967 Shelby GT500, presented as an original survivor and finished in its factory-correct Lime Gold (Code 7) over a Black Decor Interior. This car retains its original 428 cu.in. Police Interceptor V8 paired with its original C-6 automatic transmission, making it a highly desirable example of Shelby’s most powerful street car of 1967.
What truly sets this GT500 apart is its extraordinary ownership history. Purchased new in 1967 and later acquired on June 1, 1971, by John & Judy Sievert of Estherville, Iowa, this Shelby remained in the same family’s ownership for over five decades. In 2025, Pedal to the Metal acquired the car directly from the second owner, who had owned it continuously since 1971, an almost unheard-of provenance in today’s Shelby market.
This Shelby GT500 is a solid, honest survivor. The body is structurally sound and presents as a very solid base for preservation or restoration. The paint shows visible aging and defects consistent with its original, unrestored condition, and the fiberglass hood is slightly bent. Overall wear is exactly what one would expect from a properly used, un-restored vehicle of this age and should be viewed as part of its authenticity rather than a flaw.
This is a genuine, documented Shelby that has never been restored or misrepresented. It stands today as an honest, intact survivor with the kind of history collectors actively seek but rarely find.
