Pedal to the Metal Muscle Cars proudly presents this exceptionally rare and highly authentic 1967 Shelby GT500, offered as a survivor vehicle (unrestored), finished in its factory-correct Lime Gold (Code 7) over a Black Decor Interior. This GT500 retains its original 428 cu.in. Police Interceptor V8 paired with the original C-6 automatic transmission, making it a highly desirable example of Shelby’s most powerful street car of 1967.
What truly sets this Shelby apart is its extraordinary ownership history. Purchased new in 1967 by the first owner and then acquired on June 1, 1971 by John & Judy Sievert of Estherville, Iowa, and remained in the same family’s ownership for over five decades. In 2025, Pedal to the Metal acquired the car directly from the second owner, who had owned it continuously since 1971 — an almost unheard-of provenance in today’s Shelby market.
This GT500 is a solid, honest survivor. The body is structurally sound and presents as a very solid base for preservation or restoration. The one repaint bodywork shows visible character and aging consistent with its original, unrestored condition, and the fiberglass hood is slightly bent. Overall wear reflects authentic use and should be viewed as part of the car’s originality.
This is a genuine, documented Shelby that has never been restored or misrepresented.
